In 2013, the total number of tourists coming to Phu Yen at the tourism accommodation foundations is estimated at 600,000 turns, reaching 100% of the whole year’s plan, an 20% increase against the figure of the year 2012. It’s the efforts of the Tourism sector, including the tasks of advertising, promoting and stimulating tourism that brings about the very first efficiency.
DIVERSIFYING FORMS OF ADVERTISING AND PROMOTING
Determining the task of advertising and promoting as one of the weak segments of Phu Yen tourism, therefore, in the year 2013, the tourism sector has concentrated much more on this task. Apart from the state’s budget, the enterprises have joined hands to implement the socialization. Furthermore, the more significant fact is the diversified forms of advertising and promoting, which has brought about the very first efficiency. Mr. Vo Khanh Ngoc, vice director of Phu Yen center for culture and tourism promotion, let known, “In the year 2013, the tourism sector has drastically concentrated on the task of promoting and advertising. Besides the life-long traditional ways as joining the domestic and foreign trade fairs, organizing the advertising activities in the provinces considered the potential tourist markets….in the year 2013, the tourism sector drastically shifted the focus to the task of propagating on the media channels, the tourism websites, and particularly welcoming Famtrip groups to Phu Yen province for surveying the tourism potentials. This is considered the most efficient channel of advertising and promoting tourism, both in expenditure and efficiency in tourism development”.
FORMING THE ALLYING BLOCK TO STIMULATE DEMANDS
Within the program of stimulating tourism in 2013 issued by the PPC, so far, the functional authorities have implemented the assigned fundamental programs, like” performing art to serve tourists at Nhan temple, announcing the focal tourist destinations at the localities, the program of enhancing the level of the staff working in the tourism sector, the task of propagating and promoting tourism…, all have brought about positive changes as well as certain efficiency.
At the viewpoint of the Tourism association and enterprises, Phu Yen tourism association has chaired the formation of “Allying block to stimulate demands”. The block members are tourism enterprises, travel and transportation enterprises, the hotel and commotion owners…, all of whom will form a chain of common tourism products with the spirit of the best tourism quality at the lowest prices. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, chairman of Phu Yen Tourism Association, let known, “the first common chain of products is the tours in Phu Yen, with some concrete products like the services of hotels, dining, transportation and shopping.., all offered at the most favorable prices with assuring of the best quality. This chain of demand-stimulating products is aimed at the North and Ha Noi capital tourists during the Lunar New Year and the tourism season in the year 2014.
As shared by Mr. Pham Van Bay, vice director of Phu Yen department of culture-sports-tourism, the chain of common products initiated by the allying block by Phu Yen tourism association is such a great incentive, which, on the condition of being implemented in an open and transparent way, is definitely the linking chain to avoid the cases of individual implementation by single enterprises, who one after the other reduce prices without thinking about the quality of services and value of their brand names, which consequently has negative impacts on the common brand of the tourism sector.
