The Sakyamuni Buddha statue is located on the summit of Nui Chua Mountain, within the Ba Na Hills tourist area in Da Nang. The statue stands 27 meters tall, placed on a 6-meter-high lotus pedestal, making the total height 33 meters. It is crafted from pure white stone, radiating a solemn and graceful aura.
Sakyamuni Buddha is depicted in a meditative seated posture, with gentle, compassionate eyes looking toward the viewers, expressing profound serenity and wisdom. At the base of the statue are eight relief panels illustrating eight significant stages in the life of the Buddha, from his birth to his enlightenment.
The statue is situated about 1,400 meters above sea level, surrounded by lush green forests and fresh air, creating a peaceful atmosphere ideal for worship and meditation.
This statue belongs to the Linh Ung Pagoda at Ba Na, a Mahayana Buddhist temple that venerates the Three Buddhas and various Bodhisattvas. It is not only an important religious symbol but also a spiritual tourist destination attracting many visitors and Buddhists who come to pray for peace and happiness.
Construction of the statue began in 1999 and was completed in 2004 under the management of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
